Epson 9900 repair
The Epson repair guy just left, our 4 year old epson 9900, which had a head replacement only two years ago, needed another on, this time the repair pecker was $ii,400 for the parts (included a wiper and pump cap).
Now this is a printer that gets used every day, if only for a nozzle check, and so its non sitting for weeks without use. I tried the Windex handling, 4 times, no go.
But an ascertainment, but for those who are thinking about getting one, the extended warranty, as expensive equally it is, is something to consider. This is non a inexpensive machine to run and the repair guy admitted the heads need replacement regularly

Hi Sjstremb
I feel your pain. I had a 7900. 18 calendar month into its life, information technology needs head replaced. The estimated repair toll is astronomical, and of form I did not accept extended warrantee. Instead of repairing information technology, I trash the printer and bender a Canon and never look dorsum.

I have had 3 big format Epsons, over the course of 13 years, and have never had to replace print heads until I got the 9900.
After merely 2 years of moderate utilise (6 months ago) just later on my extended warranty expired, I got a fatal nozzle clog on the yellowish channel, which cost me $2000 to repair.
Mind you the printer is setup to automatically print a small image daily, since these printers need to run on a regular basis to avoid clogs.
Unfortunately these and then called "pro printers" have a very high print head failure charge per unit, and spending $2000 every ii years on a new impress head is outrageous.
My money will be going elsewhere on the next printer, unless Epson seriously addresses this issue.

Re: Epson 9900 repair
I've had a 7900 for four years, the head was replaced within the first year due to clogs. It was nether warranty, only I asked the tech what it would cost if not under warranty and was told about $4,000.00.
Now I have the same problem and it will not articulate the caput, I've tried the Windex trick to no avail and have used a ton of ink to no avail. Still banding and no green channel.
That'south why I reading the postal service here. Epson needs to step up to the plate and fix this problem.
